Louisville men’s golf product Matthias Schmid fired a 5-under 65 Friday at Royal St. George’s, tying the record low for a single round by an amateur at The Open Championship.
Schmid, who is 1-under for the tournament, birdied four of his final seven holes on Friday and finished the round without a single bogey. As of the time of this post, he is tied for the low amateur in the tournament.
